The nitty gritty.

Answers to your commonly asked questions.

It’s important to vibe with whoever is capturing your wedding day. It’s intimate, after all. Having a good look through someone’s portfolio and feeling a connection with the wedding photos and their style is essential. After that, I think meeting and having a yarn to see how you get along is more valuable than firing questions. In the meantime, though, if you’ve got some burning ones about the finer details, it’s likely someone has had the same thoughts before. Here are some of my answers.

What are your rates?

My wedding day packages start at $3580 for five hours coverage.

Where should I take my wedding photos?

Location (the ‘where’) is super important to get great photos, but even more important is the ‘when’. Hanging out in the blazing midday sun can be fun, but it can also be difficult for photography. Planning some time to have photos close to that dreamy sunset light is a really good idea.

What do you photograph during the day and what's your style?

I photograph in a documentary style. This basically means I show up and start shooting the day as it naturally happens - with a bit of useful direction when it’s needed. When I shoot the two of you together, it’s about helping you to relax and forget about me. I give a wee bit of direction to encourage you to enjoy yourselves and your time together on your big day.

My editing style is influenced by my love of film photography. I like to think of it as timeless, following the mood and atmosphere of the day. Make sure to have a flick through my wedding stories and wedding portfolio and see if it’s your vibe.

Do you photograph small weddings and elopements?

Yes, I love them! I also shoot engagement photos and couples portraits. The whole shabang. Get in touch for pricing and options.

Do you have custom packages?

I can make a custom package to suit your day. It’s your wedding, after all. Head over here, say hey, and I’ll send you a full price list.

Do you take family photos at a wedding?

Yep, for sure. Usually we do these just after the ceremony. It’s great if you can have a family member, the MC or someone with a solid outside voice there to organise the groups, so I can concentrate on taking photos.

How will we see our photos?

It’s all pretty easy. My packages are delivered in an online gallery which makes viewing, sharing and printing your photos nice and simple. My print shop is connected to your gallery, so you can see your photos in high quality prints too.

How long will it be before we receive our photos?

I send out preview images within three days of your wedding. Then, you’ll receive all of your images anywhere between three and eight weeks after the big day, depending on the time of year and how busy my editing schedule is.

Do you make wedding albums?

Yep, I can custom design and build you a beautiful, high-quality wedding book. Or, if you book me for my 11-hour package, it includes a 50 page book - jump over here for more on that. I know there are heaps of amazing options out there for wedding albums and books, so if mine doesn’t fit your budget, you’re more than welcome to have your own made.

Will you use our photos on social media?

If I’m really stoked with them, I’ll sometimes share photos on Facebook or the gram. Of course, if you don’t want me to, just let me know.

Can we have the RAW files?

The editing process is a big part of my photography and personal style, so I’m afraid I don’t usually provide the raw files.

Do you shoot film?

I absolutely love shooting with film. To me, it has a very honest and life-like feel. If you’re interested in having your wedding shot on film or a mixture with digital, let me know. We can talk options.

Do we need to pay a deposit?

I ask for a non-refundable $1200.00 booking fee as a deposit to secure me for the day. Life happens and things change, though, and with reasonable notice, you can move your booking to a day that I’m free at no additional charge or loss of deposit.

Do you travel for weddings?

Absolutely, I’m always down for a mission. I’ve shot weddings from Scotland to Bali, with a fair few in between. If your wedding is outside of the Southern Lakes or Central Otago region, we can talk about travel costs and accommodation. I try to keep these to a minimum.

Will we meet up before the wedding?

For sure. I’m always happy to catch up, have a chat and see if we are a good fit. Once you’re booked in, we’ll usually meet up once in the months before the wedding, and then once again in the week leading up to it, to go over all the details and schedule of your day.

If you’re feeling the feels, let’s make a time to hang out.
